PIANO TUNING
STANDARD TUNING
2.5 Hours. $150.
This is typically for pianos that are tuned regularly. If it has been more than a year since last tuned (or if it has been moved), there is a high probability the piano has drifted far enough from A440 (or your desired pitch) that I will need to perform a "pitch correction" before tuning. See below.
TUNING + PITCH CORRECTION
3 Hours. $225
After a quick assessment, if the piano is sufficiently flat or sharp, I do a rough tuning before the fine tuning. If this is not done, the piano will quickly pull itself out of tune to settle back where it has been resting.

PIANO REGULATION
HALF DAY
4-6 Hours. $550.
This option is best if your piano hasn't been worked on in a number of years, and isn't functioning as well as it could.
The action will be removed from the piano, inspected and regulated to restore balance and improve function. Minor repairs will be made.
FULL DAY
8 Hours. $850.
This option is best if your piano hasn't been worked on in many years, and needs a lot of attention, or for those with a high-level performance instrument.
In addition to the Half Day services, the hammers will be shaped and voiced, the damper system will be inspected and regulated, and repairs accomplished.
We will work together to discover what your needs are and how to help your piano function at its best!

PIANO VOICING
Advanced techniques that affect the tone of the sound your piano produces.
Can be accomplished with the Half Day or Full Day package.
PIANO REPAIR
Just like cars, pianos break down and need regular maintenance and repair. From broken strings or sticky keys, to pesky buzzes or squeaky pedals, there are lots of parts in a piano that fail over time and need fixing or replacing.
Any services outside of the Tuning, Half/Full Day, and Cleaning packages are charged at $85 per hour. I will always give you a quote and consult with you before doing any work, and will never exceed the quote without first consulting with you.

WHAT IS PIANO VOICING?
"Voicing" refers to manipulating the tone a hammer produces when it hits the string. One of the biggest goals of voicing is to have the sound/tone change at different key velocities and dynamics. When playing a note ppp - pp - p - f - ff - fff, you should hear a distinct change in not only volume, but also in tone.
This can be accomplished during the Half Day or Full Day package.
REPAIR
Over time, main components in the piano will deteriorate with use. Materials like cloth, felt, leather, and wood will wear away or break. These issues can be assessed and diagnosed during a consultation or a Standard Service.
I will always confer with you before doing any work to stay within your desires and budget!
TUNING SERVICES
During the tuning process I will get a feel for any other work the piano might benefit from. From there we will deliberate together to assess what, if anything, you would like to have done. Most pianos need more than just a tuning.
WHAT IS REGULATION?
Regulating a piano means adjusting all the parts so they are in balance when they interact with each other. Wear and tear, age, seasonal humidity changes, and moving are some of the reasons a piano can become dis-regulated. Proper regulation is just as critical for the performance of the piano as having it tuned regularly.
SIGNS A PIANO NEEDS REGULATION:
-Noises (squeaks, rattles, thumps, clicks & clacks)
-A change in "feel" of keys (playing becomes harder, easier, or more difficult to control)
-The sound changes (weak or uneven tone, muffled sound)
-Uneven or sticky keys
-Pedals not working correctly (dampers not fully silencing strings, soft pedal not working correctly)
